Children hit by automobiles statistics.

Many local schools will be open next week. According to a study by the Safe Kids, sixty-one children are hit by automobiles every day in the United States most often during the hours before and after school.  It is not a coincidence that children being hit by automobiles peaks in September.  September is the first month of a new school year.

Uber offers a change in insurance protection.

The New Jersey Legislature passed a law earlier this year which required that rideshare services like Uber provide automobile insurance as follows:

(1)   primary automobile liability insurance in the amount of at least $1,500,000 for death, bodily injury, and property damage;

(2)   primary automobile insurance for medical payments benefits in an amount of at least $10,000 per person per incident, which shall only apply to and provide coverage for the benefit of the transportation network company driver; and (more…)

Ford Explorers Subject Of Carbon Monoxide Investigation

Police Chief Brian Manley of the Austin Texas Police Department put carbon monoxide detectors in his officers’ Police vehicles after some officers became sick.  The Police Chief discovered that there were high levels of Carbon Monoxide which can be deadly in the vehicles. His decision to not use these vehicles sparked an investigation into Ford Explorers.

Ford Motor Company has recently announced that it is investigating incidents of carbon monoxide poisoning in Ford Explorer vehicles that are used by Police Department throughout the United States.  (more…)

The Osteo Relief Institute located on Route 34 in Wall Township voluntarily closed March 7 after patients contracted various bacterial infections from injections to their knees, Monmouth County Health Officer David A. Henry said on Sunday. The investigation found several breaches of injection control, including employees not washing their hands thoroughly and letting full needles sit “well before” they were used on patients.
